Worldsensing recruits ex-Colt executive Steve Cahill as COO

Tech sector heavyweight takes over from Raoul Roverato to help steer company through a new phase of growth


Barcelona, Spain 24 February 2020: Worldsensing, a global leader in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies for risk reduction, has named IT industry veteran Steve Cahill as its new chief operating officer (COO).
Cahill joins the Worldsensing team in Barcelona, Spain, after a 35-year career in technology leadership that has included senior positions at, ICL, Computer Sciences Corporation, Unitrans and Orange Business Services, running global budgets worth more than US$ 1 billion.
Most recently, he ran his own international management consultancy practice, after six years leading over 1000+ employees,  as both general manager of the pan-European Shared Service Centre and vice president for Spain at Colt Technology Services, based in Barcelona.
Cahill replaces Raoul Roverato, who has stepped down to pursue other interests after acting as Worldsensing’s COO for more than four years. Cahill said:

Having previously had the pleasure of working with Raoul for a number of years, I know that he will have created a very solid platform for us to drive the business forward”.

Cahill’s brief at Worldsensing will include helping to steer the business towards further growth opportunities, consolidating the company’s leadership position in the IoT sector and building deeper relationships with customers and technology partners in key verticals such as mining, rail and construction.

Alongside his varied career history, Cahill has academic titles from IESE Business School, Hult International Business School, the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University. He also serves on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations and is a keen sportsman, enjoying cycling, hiking and playing golf.
